Woman shot on Main Street in Worcester

Police are investigating a shooting on Main Street in Worcester where several witnesses say shots were fired outside compare foods at around 7 p.m.

Sources say the victim is a 34-year-old woman who suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

She was rushed to UMass Memorial Medical center and there is no word on her condition.

Police closed a portion of Main Street as well as a four block radius around the scene of the crime while they investigated.

Mass. gas prices edge up another 2 cents

BOSTON - Massachusetts residents are paying two more cents a gallon at the gas pump, the seventh consecutive week of increases. AAA Southern New England reports Monday that self-serve, regular is up to an average of $3.49 per gallon, 12 cents higher than a month ago.
